Maple's story

Scroll down and I'll show you how I went from a palmful of puppy to full-time zoomies.

2026

  1. May 2026

    A palmful of poodle

Maple as a few-weeks-old puppy, held in two hands out on the patio

This is me a few weeks after I was born. I was small enough to be carried around in two hands, and honestly, I had no complaints. My eyes had only just worked out how to open.

  2. June 2026

    Finding my feet

Maple standing on a white blanket, facing the camera
Maple sitting on the same blanket, glancing to the side

A couple of weeks later I could stand up all by myself, which meant I could finally play a bit. Still wobbly, still very curly.

  3. August 2026

    The ride home

Maple as a puppy peeking out of a beige sling carrier, held close on a cobbled street

This was the day I left my litter and went home with my people. I was too small to walk it, so I got carried the whole way, and by the end of it I had a house, a family, and a name. Best trip I have ever taken.

  4. Bath number one

Soaking wet Maple standing in the bathtub, held steady by two hands
Maple mid-bath with her eyes squeezed shut while she gets soaped up
Maple bundled in a white towel afterwards, still damp and unimpressed

My first ever bath, which nobody asked me about beforehand. I stood very still, waited it out, and quietly hoped it was a one-time thing. It was not. The towel afterwards almost made up for it.

More to come ...
